THE MOJO STARS

FRIDAY APRIL 12, 2019

This talented group of musicians is very well known throughout the Lower Mainland. With a number of albums to their credit and being nominated for a Maple Blues Award as New Artist of the Year in 2003 and for W.C.M.A. awards as Outstanding Blues CD of the Year in both 2005 and 2007, they bring a lot of credentials to the party! They have opened for the likes of Pinetop Perkins, Bo Diddley, Coco Montoya and many more. They were even invited by Joni Mitchell to perform at her 60th birthday party. With the double guitar threat of Ted Tosoff and Rick Dalgarno, Gary Berg on Bass and John McCreath on drums, the audience at Club 240 is really going to be in for a treat. Whatever you do….don’t miss this amazing group!

Here's another group that always packs the house at Club 240!!

Formed in 2015, the Retrogrades have recently begun bringing their love of high-energy Rock n’ Rock to venues south of the Fraser.  The Retrogrades play danceable hits from across the years, including Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Lenny Kravitz, Queen, Duran Duran, The Doors, as well as recent hits from performers like Weeknd & Pharrell.

The Retrogrades came together when 3 work colleagues realized all they shared a love of live music. Ted Johnson (vocals, guitar), Brad Bauman (lead guitar) and Neil Stephenson (drums) work together in leadership roles with the Delta School District.  After a year of jamming for fun and a few school district events, discussions about expanding the project began. The search for a bass player lead them to Stephan Major, a local Ocean Park contractor.

FRIDAY APRIL 19, 2019

Gale Force Blues Piggies is a group of seasoned veteran musicians who have been performing around the Lower Mainland and beyond for many years.  Their music is a high energy, eclectic mix of Blues, Classic Rock and Soul music that will keep everyone on the dance floor all night.  The band members include Howlin’ Jon Gale (guitar and vocals), Mike Carter (guitar), Jamie Dale (vocals), Steve Moore (sax and vocals), Howard Greenstein (keyboards), Ross Langbell (bass), Tambelena (percussion and vocals) and Terry Hoff (drums).  Add to this mix the amazingly talented trombonist Randy Oxford.  Randy, Washington State Performer of the Year, whose prowess on trombone and ability to ignite an audience's enthusiasm have become legendary in the Northwest, is a fixture on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise and the Big Blues Benders where he plays with every major artist in the blues world.
Club 240 is excited to have this amazing group of musicians perform at a special Saturday night show.  This will be an evening of incredible energy and fabulous music.

“Every Randy Oxford Band show is a high energy show, with a no-holds barred festival-party atmosphere."

Catch the Evening Train and join Cyprus Avenue for  “A Tribute to Van Morrison & More”
If you’re a fan of this legendary Northern Irish singer song writer’s music and enjoy R&B classics, Cyprus Avenue is sure to please.
A lower mainland 6 piece ensemble with a clear vintage sound flirting with borders of rock, blues and jazz while staying true to the 60’s and 70’s R&B, performing horn driven dance tunes, intimate ballads, and everything in between.

Spawned in the heart of beautiful Ocean Park Surrey, the Ocean Park Wailers is an organic musical project. It began as three experienced but retired musicians coming back to their craft.
At first, it was to just jam and play some of their favorite tunes from the past five decades. It has swelled and transformed into a popular eight-member South Surrey band that particularly delights the dancers in the crowd. From the deep blues, to rock and R & B, to roots and originals, the Wailers play what they love - and judging from the audience reaction…it shows.

Lead Vocals: Terry Raible & Carolyn Neopole
Lead Guitar and Vocals: Kevin Irwin
Bass & Vocals: Russ Froese
Drums: Paul Sorbara
Saxophone & Vocals: Elliott Clarkson
Keys: Bill Brooks
Keys: Jim Widdifield
